MI980 Mini-ITX supports 4th Generation Intel® Core™ i7/i5 processors. This motherboard is based on the mobile Intel® QM87 and HM86 Express chipsets, which deliver increased graphics and CPU performance over previous generations. The new board design is primarily developed for the industrial and embedded markets, where high processing capacity is required but power limitations are also constrained.

The MI980 is equipped with two standard voltage or low voltage DDR3 SO-DIMM sockets that support up to 16GB of system memory. Video connections include DVI-I, DVI-D, LVDS/eDP, and DisplayPort. There is also a spacer for accommodating expansion cards.
